Membership Information

The Deep Bay Yacht Club was formed in 1998. The purpose of the Club is to promote seamanship, fellowship, safety and education for boating enthusiasts in the Deep Bay area.

Benefits of Membership

Education - The club hosts meetings with  guest speakers, film, video and other activities of interest. Additionally, experienced boaters are very willing to share their knowledge around boating issues and cruising in local waters.

Social - Many social events including Christmas dinner, BBQ's, wine tasting, potluck events and an annual sailpast.

Shopping - Members receive a discount at certain marine supply stores.

Racing - The club holds a number of sail racing events in local waters.

Cruising - The club organizes cruises providing opportunities for new boaters to get to know local waters, raft up with fellow boaters for social time, and provide a measure of security in numbers.

Reciprocals - The Club has reciprocal moorage arrangements with many yacht clubs in the Pacific Northwest.

Lighthouse Country Marine Centre (LCMC) - The Club shares the floating LCMC with the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue 59 (RCM-SAR 59). The LCMC is used for club events and is available for some private functions.

Reasonable Cost - The following changes to Membership and Initiation dues were approved at the 2023 Annual General Meeting on December 9, 2023.

  1. Effective immediately the initiation fee shall be $300 (to include burgee) plus $250 membership fee for 2024.
  2. For the year 2024 and beyond the membership fee shall be $250.
